ParentLink
Click here for the ParentLink Server If you have picked up your phone and heard an automated or recorded message from Crosswinds or Harambee, then you have heard from our ParentLink server. We use ParentLink to send automated messages to parents about attendance and class tardies, as well as teacher-recorded messages about assignments or upcoming events. Parents also can log-on to the ParentLink website to access their child's attendance history and current cafeteria balance (currently for Crosswinds students only).
ParentLink - Instructions for Parents
Frequently Asked Questions
Question: What if my answering machine does not record the entire message?
Answer: You can replay any message sent to your phone by calling the ParentLink server at 651.379.2727. Follow the prompts to listen to messages sent to your phone number. You can also access text versions of all ParentLink messages by logging on the ParentLink server and clicking on the "Information Center" link.
Question: Do I have a ParentLink account?
Answer: By default, most parents of EMID students have an account on our ParentLink server. The account is automatically set up with the parent's home phone number; messages sent to the parent are delivered to that phone number only. The ParentLink server will deliver messages to that number anytime between 8 AM and 9 PM.
However, if a student has parents or guardians that live at separate addresses, the additional parent/guardian's account needs to be manually created on the ParentLink server. Please contact the school at 651.379.2600 if you would like to have an account created for you.
Question: How do I get my account information?
Answer: Account IDs and passwords will be mailed home to all Crosswinds parents in January 2007. Follow the directions in that letter to set up your account. If you have misplaced that letter or never received one, please contact Crosswinds at 651.379.2600.
Question: Why should I log on to the ParentLink website?
Answer: The only way to customize your account preferences or access your child's attendance history and cafeteria balance is through the website. For example, it is very easy for parents to set up their accounts so that messages are sent to multiple email addresses (e.g., both mom and dad's work e-mail addresses); a work phone number between the weekday hours of 9 AM and 5 PM; or a home phone number between 5 PM and 9 PM on weeknights.
Question: What if I don't have a computer?
Answer: You can call the ParentLink server at 651.379.2727 to listen to messages sent to your home (the server will ask you to enter your phone number to listen to messages sent to that number). You can also access additional information by logging on over the phone using the account information that was mailed home in February. If you want to customize your account preferences, you can use any computer connected to the Internet (at a library or other location). Crosswinds will also be offering some evening times during which parents can use Crosswinds computers to set up their ParentLink accounts.
If you are a Crosswinds parent, please e-mail Rachel Verdoorn if you have questions or problems with your account. Harambee parents should contact Chris Harkness. |
