Alex Awards
Alex Awards are given to outstanding adult fiction and non-fiction titles that will intrigue and challenge the diverse audience of teen readers.

Batchelder Award
The Batchelder Award is awarded to an American publisher for a children's book considered to be the most outstanding of those books originally published in a foreign language in a foreign country, and subsequently translated into English and published in the United States.

BBYA/Best Books for Young Adults
BBYA is a list of fiction and nonfiction titles published in the past 16 months and selected for their proven or potential appeal to the personal reading tastes of young adult readers ages 12 to 18.

Belpre Award
The Belpre Medals honor a Latino/Latina writer and illustrator whose works best portray, affirm, and celebrate the Latino cultural experience in an outstanding work of literature for children and youth.

Coretta Scott King Award
Recipients are authors and illustrators of African descent whose distinguished books promote an understanding and appreciation of the "American Dream."

National Book Award
Recognizes books of exceptional merit written by Americans. There is a winner for Young People's Literature

Newbery Medal
The Newbery Medal honors the author of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children.

Edgar Allan Poe Awards
The “Edgars®” named after Edgar Allan Poe, are awarded to authors of distinguished mysteries. There is a category for "Best Young Adult" and "Best Juvenile Mystery".

Printz Award
Printz Medals honor the best young adult book ("best" being defined solely in terms of literary merit) from the previous year's publications. The award-winning book may be fiction, non-fiction, poetry or an anthology.

Quick Picks for Reluctant Young Adult Readers
The Quick Picks list recommends books appropriate for reluctant young adult readers ages 12 to 18 who, for whatever reasons, do not like to read. The list identifies titles for recreational reading, not for curricular or remedial use.

Siebert Award
The Siebert Medal honors the author of the most distinguished informational book published during the preceding year.
