Medication at School
The medication policy for the Harambee Elementary School was developed using the state-mandated policy as a guideline and is designed to protect students, parents, and school personnel. For the protection of our students, all medication will be stored in the nurse’s office.
A new medication permission form is required each school year. The form is available via "Forms/Publications" under "Family Resources".
PROCEDURE - All medications must have a permission slip signed by a physician/prescribing health professional and parent/guardian.
- All prescribed medicine must be in a pharmacy-labeled bottle. Pharmacies, when asked, will provide an extra container to be kept at school.
Prescription label for school must include: a. Student name b. Medication and dosage c. Time of day that medicine is given d. Prescribing health professional’s name |
