Band

The band program at Harambee includes small group lessons and an optional ensemble rehearsal each week. The instruments taught are: flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and percussion. We use the "Standard of Excellence" music series, which is available at most Twin Cities music stores. Students are expected to commit to a half hour of practicing at least five times per week. Students advance at their own pace. Instrumental instruction begins as early as the 4th grade. The group lessons are 25 minutes long. When the students reach a moderate level of proficiency, they are invited to join the band. The band rehearses once a week for 45 minutes.
