Environmental Science Curriculum

In Environmental Science, students will be learning about the Earth. Students will learn about the materials that make up the Earth and how the environment affects those materials. Students will also be learning about the water cycle, weather, and climate along with the universe. The Full Option Science Systems (FOSS) program will be used to study Air and Weather (Grades K-2), Water (Grades 3-4) and Solar Energy (Grades 5-6). The K-1 students will also be listening to and discussing books that have an environmental focus. Students in Grades 2-3 will be studying owls and dissecting owl pellets. Students in Grades 4-5 will be learning compass skills. Students will also be listening to, reading, and discussing books that have an environmental focus. Fridays will be an outside day to do school grounds work, environmental activities, and general exploration and observation of our 28-acre campus. Regardless of weather conditions, the students will be going outside so please make sure that your child is dressed properly.
