Welcome to my teacher space page. I teach English as a Second Language and provide instructional support to students and teachers in grades 2, 3, 4, and 5 at Harambee Elementary School.

My undergraduate degree is from Indiana University, where I had a double major in French and German. I received my initial teaching license in ESL from Hamline University in St. Paul. I also have a Masters in Education from Hamline.

I am an avid reader and love learning about how people learn languages. I recently became a grandmother for the first time, and I really enjoy having a little one around again.

Class Notes

Almost all ESL support at Harambee is provided through a collaborative team-teaching model. I work with classroom teachers to plan lessons that support all students in mastering grade-level content standards while they are becoming proficient in English.

Some beginning students receive additional support outside the classroom. Our overall goal is to give all students the support they need to be successful learners in an English-speaking environment.
