I am Anne Andersen, back as principal at Crosswinds after two years as administrator of an internatinal school in Trondheim, Norway.  I am delighted to be back in Woodbury, at the school that I helped to start in 1998.  I am pleased to see that during my absense, Roger Kocinski, as principal,and the rest of the staff, continued with the lofty goals we had set before I left.  During the last two years, our school has become an authorized International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program, allowing us to network with some of the best middle schools around the world.  I am aware of the benefits of this networking after visiting with teachers and administrators in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.  I look forward to sharing insights and ideas from this experience with the Crosswinds community. My education background includes 20 years of primary and middle school classroom teaching, including two years on the Grand Portage Indian reservation in northern Minnesota.  I have experience teaching elementary and secondary education classes at the University of Minnesota and workshops for the Minnesota Dept of Education and Minnesota Writing Project. I have a passion about excellent teaching and diversity and am anxious to involve the entire Crosswinds community in the discussion about high student achievement and closing learning gaps.  Please contact me if you have questions or comments about our school.
