Welcome to Mrs. Badilla's teacher space! I am currently a 4th grade teacher. This is my 10th year teaching here at Harambee. Before Harambee, I studied Spanish and Latin American Studies at UW- Madison. After I graduated, I got a job at Tri District which is now Harambee. I was hired as an Educational Assistant in 1996. Soon after, I went back to Augsburg to get my teacher's license. After completion, I became a teacher at Harambee in 2000. I was drawn to Harambee because of the Multicultural Education focus. I am very passioate about social justice issues. I taught 5/6 multiage for 6 years. Then for the past 3 years I have taught 4/5 multiage. I really enjoy working with the intermediate students! In 2002 I received my Masters Degree in Education from Hamline University. I still continually seek opportunities to learn and grow!
On a personal note, I am married to Conrado and have a son named Sebastian. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, watching movies, traveling, attending community events, Latin dancing, biking, walking, camping and any other outdoor activity. I need to stay busy all the time! :)
